Dr Sharon Stein

Dr Sharon Stein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia (Canada). Her research brings critical and decolonial perspectives to the role of education in societies, with a particular emphasis on issues of decolonization, internationalization, and sustainability in higher education. She emphasizes the educational challenges of addressing the intellectual, affective, and relational dimensions of social change, in particular as this relates to both disinvesting from harmful and unsustainable modes of existence, and ethically encountering and engaging other horizons of possibility. She is convenor of the Critical Internationalization Studies Network, and core member of the Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures Collective.
